In the Margin

The design introduces a library dedicated to the free press into the dense urban fabric of the Chelsea Neighborhood adjacent to the Highline. The collection houses newspapers and news artifacts, with the focal point being a printing press.

The form of the library is two blocks, a solid and a frame that draws from the infrastructural style of the Highline. When in the solid, visitors are totally immersed in news and when in the frame, visitors can see how the city interacts with the library.
